Casting process of copper alloy

Dec 22,2022

Copper alloys with different compositions have different crystallization characteristics, casting properties and casting process characteristics.

1. Tin bronze: Crystallization is characterized by large crystallization temperature range and wide solidification area. In terms of casting performance, the fluidity is poor, easy to produce shrinkage porosity and not easy to oxidize. The process feature is that the wall thickness parts adopt directional solidification (sequential solidification), and complex thin wall parts and general wall thickness parts adopt simultaneous solidification.

2. Aluminum bronze and aluminum brass: crystallization is characterized by a small range of crystallization temperature, which is characterized by layer-by-layer solidification. In terms of casting performance, it has good fluidity, easy to form concentrated shrinkage cavity and easy to oxidize. The process feature is that the aluminum bronze gating system is bottom pouring type, and the aluminum brass gating system is open type.

3. Silicon brass: the crystalline feature is between tin bronze and aluminum bronze. Good casting performance (in special brass). The process is characterized by sequential solidification process, middle pouring pouring system and small size of concealed riser
